One of the most powerful things I’ve learned about success is that it is not only a destination, but also a lifestyle.
Success is not about one distant point in your life, but includes the character, the decisions, and the habits that get you to that end.
This means that such success can be reproduced and replicated.
It means that is it not so far out of reach but can be achieved if we are intentional and focused. This is certainly one of the core traits of successful women.
May be you’re asking “what is a successful life?” well, keep reading to find out.

HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE
A successful life is not about fame, fortune or freedom though these things can be visible traits of success. To put it simply:
A Successful life is the attainment or fulfilment of a desired outcome in a manner that aligns with the values and vision for your life.
With that said, here are 10 things we need to learn from successful women.

10 THINGS SUCCESSFUL WOMEN DO BEAUTIFULLY THAT WE NEED TO LEARN
- They don’t share their dreams with just anyone.
Successful women know that an idea is most fragile at the point of conception, so they are careful whom they share it with. There are people who may mean well but often take a pessimistic view to things. Imagine sharing an idea for a new business or big project with them?
They are more likely to find all the potential problems thereby killing your motivation.
2. They are not afraid to say “No”.
Successful women are boundary queens.
They are clear about the things they take on and often know when to say no – to a request, an opportunity, or a decision.
Successful women know that one right opportunity will always trump 5 so-so opportunities. They are not in a hurry to achieve fame or fortune, so they focus on depth rather than shallow growth.
3. They are open to new opportunities but don’t feel the need to take on too much.
Successful women are quick to explore opportunities and ideas that align with their goals and values. This means two things:
- They are clear about what matters to them. This may be their faith, their family and their health. Whatever it maybe, successful women make decisions that serve their core values and their vision of their lives. “All things are lawful but not all things are expedient…” 1 Corinthians 6:12
- They prioritize those things. This clarity about their lives enables them to optimize their time and resources choosing to focus more on the things that serve the life and future they have been called to.
4. They prioritise rest.
Successful women know that success is not defined by overwork or the rat race. They believe wholeness and meaning are found on the other side of rest and rejuvenation.
Successful women make time to rest their minds and bodies. They take periodic retreats and embark on detox sessions.
5. They are self-aware and are not afraid to reflect on their actions and decisions.
Women who do great things are often great thinkers.
Research shows that we become more confident and creative as we grow in self-awareness. We are also more likely to make sounder decisions, communicate effectively, while also building stronger relationships.
Self-awareness is not self-criticism, but rather a desire to see ourselves clearly, flaws, gifts, and all.
6. They know that action beats perfection.
Successful women know that “done is better than perfect.”
They are action oriented and focus on building their output.
They understand that practice leads to growth and deliberate practice to mastery.
If you’re looking for a book that illustrates this then I will recommend “Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist.
7. They invest in their health (mental, physical and spiritual)
Successful women understand that “health is wealth”. They know that their ability to continue to show up in their truest and most authentic self comes down do how they take care of every aspect of their health, not just physical health.
Successful women are likely to have active health insurance, do their annual check-ups, and invest in therapy (where required), and their spiritual growth, knowing that each of these things build up their body, soul and spirit.
They have a daily habit of movement, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

8. She doesn’t give up when things get tough.
Successful women don’t give up, they recalibrate.
Their persistence and resilience are some of two traits that have allowed them to attain great heights.
They go back to the drawing board when things are not going well, to consider and determine their best course of action.
9. She is the queen of value and gets paid for it.
She knows what she brings to the table, whether literally or figuratively. Successful women know that money follows value, so they are willing to:
- Invest in their growth.
- Deepen their knowledge of their subject matter.
10. She’s a fashion icon.
No, I don’t mean it in the beauty industry sense but in the fact that she is comfortable in her own skin, and you will usually find her wearing the things they suit her, not just things that are trending.
Because of her confidence, you will often find that she is a trendsetter not a trend follower. She invests in quality items not quantity. She doesn’t mind repeating her clothes, because dressing for her is an extension of her identity and values.
In Conclusion: Choose a Successful Life
I have heard that true success is not some general yardstick but an alignment of your spirit, soul, and body.
It’s a point in which you know who you are and who you want to be and are working to make these things a reality.
Most of the ten things I mentioned above reflect the inner oneness that we all strive towards, and I hope they inspire you to pursue a life of true success.
Do you currently practice any of these things?
I would love to know in the comments.
